Farsældarvika 2026: Putting Your Child at the Center

Join Us for an Online Lunch Meeting for Parents!

As part of Capital Region Prosperity Week (March 9–13), we invite all parents and guardians to a special online lunch presentation dedicated to the well-being and prosperity of our children. The goal of the Prosperity Act (farsældarlögin) is to ensure that the child is always at the center of the services they receive. Prosperity is a shared responsibility between the municipality, schools, healthcare providers, and families. When different systems talk to each other and share responsibility, we can better ensure that every child receives the right support at the right time.

What We Will Cover:

The Power of Integration: How schools and services are moving away from working in isolation toward a more holistic, collaborative approach for children.

  • Your Child’s Contact Person (Tengiliður): Every child has a designated contact person who is responsible for coordinating services and acting as a primary point of contact for the family.
  • Resources for Families: An introduction to tools like BOFS educational videos and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, which help define what prosperity looks like in a child's everyday life.

Meeting Details:

  • When: Friday, March 13th 2026
  • Time: 12:15 PM – 12:45 PM
  • Where: Online via google meet

Our hope is that this session will empower you with the knowledge of how the prosperity framework supports your family and ensures that no child’s needs go unmet.
