U.S. Office of Overseas Schools and AERO

ISI has its roots in the American Embassy School in Reykjavik and is a U.S. assisted overseas school. Assisted schools maintain a close relationship with the Department of State and their respective Regional Education Officers.

The U.S. Department of State provides assistance to overseas schools through direct and indirect support. Project AERO (American Education Reaches Out) provides training and resources for our school to develop a standards-based curriculum. ISI staff regularly attend the AERO Summer Institute in Washington DC.
